Ive got a tamiya version 2 gear diff in the back of my car. One of the outdrive seals are leaking and i was wondering wether there are specific seals for the tamiya diff or are they the same as all spec r diffs? same question for the internal gears as il replace them at the same time

V2 diff is completely different spec R. Kyosho orings #ORG05 will fix the leaks

Edit: I discovered today that if you use the mineral diff oils (e.g. the Tamiya VG range) the standard orings don't leak at all even with thin oils

It sounds like you have the V1 (black) diff which is the same as Spec R (10t/20t). The V2 (white) diff uses different gears (12t/20t).

Champ only has the Reedy Race version and it's 50904 Yen. That's an expensive alternative until the next kit is released.

No i have the white version 2. I didnt check the tooth count when i had them out. Anyone know anywhere in the uk that will stock the kyosho o rings?

Sorry for another question. Ive just gone to replace a rear upright on my 417. The parts i have are part number 51333 the same as in the manual (and also on the 416) But the metal snap ring that goes around the cvd to hold the pin in rubs on the upright. Has anyone else had this?

This can happen if the ball stud is too long in the rear upright...The ball stud pushes down the material and it can hit the CVA. Either put a shorter ball stud in or just clean out that area with a dremel. should not take much to get it free'd up.
