Hey Tag, just want to let you know I got back on the track for the first time in 4 years and the EP4600's came back to life like it was yesterday. The 27t Express was hanging with the brushless all day. Just need to knock the cobwebs off the driving skills.

Was just curious, I notice when I first got the motor, the motor connection posts were a bit wiggly, not a lot, but noticeable. The other day I inspected one of the connection and I notice the post is like more wobbly and not connected to that plastic piece when I first got it. Is this ok? Will my motor not perform normally with a wiggly post?

Was trying to set my timing on the motor and since the side with the timing numbers are near the bottom, the ground has been scraping it off making it hard to read. Can someone tell me the order the timing numbers are from top to bottom?
From what I see, it looks like 30, 20, 10, 0, 10, 20, 30... But why is there double of each number? What direction should I be turning it?

looking at the back of your motor it goes -30, -20, -10, 0, +10, +20, +30.
99% of the time if someone says they are running 20* of timing they mean +20* People almost never run negative timing in none boosted classes.

Looking at endbell you should be turning it Counter-Clockwise to add timming.
Your correct looking at endbell it will be -30, -20, -10, -0, +10, +20, +30,+40
The med size hash between numbers is 5* (AKA 15* or 25* ect) The tiny lines are about 2*. For Blinky you should be around +20*. Another way to check if #s are scratched away look for the screw on the upper side (Timming screw)to be about center of the "A" on the A solder post.

Okie thanks for the help. Just went out this weekend to run and was running blinky with the normal stock 20 deg timing. Ran about 130 degrees F with 32/72 gearing.
Would this be consider about average temp for my setup?
How much timing can I add till it is too hot? I have heard many different temps to follow, but I would rather get a more accurate temp from you guys

Depending on the track also, We tend to gear a motor to pull 3/4 down the largest straight. That point you normally have a great ballance of top end speed,infeild punch and motor temp. Thats usally our base start point...For a more flowing track you can gear 1 tooth higher being corner speed is higher.... But RACE temps we tend to find 120-130 to be safe and a Hard Core racer will tend to push the motor to 135*-150* and these all do vary with air temp. Personally I would look for temps between 130-145* and summer outdoor temps usally 10-15* hotter.

Thats great info I did forget to ask about timing.
So I have the zapper 17.5 along with the tekin rs. I'm still trying to learn about all the functions of the ESC, and prior to learning about the timing on the motor itself, I always thought you could only add timing via ESC.
Does it make a difference where I add the timing? It would just seem easier to do it via hotwire to my tekin, but I would like to learn more about this timing as there are times I wish I could clear jumps a little farther as I'm progressing through my increase in time laps.
