Truggy or buggy to start offroad racing with?

Hi all,
seems either my other two posts are still awaiting moderation or are simply lost. Decided to go with a buggy and think that a kit would be sweet.
Intend only to 'race' at the local track which has astroturf laid down. Not looking for anything fancy but something duracle. The brands raced are mostly Hong Nor, Team Associated, HongNor, Mugen and some other things. Truggys and buggys are equal with a tendency going to buggys now.
So as some of you mentioned I'll go with the buggy. Now it's a matter of finding a cheap kit from either brands (want a new one to start properly). Well cheap. If I could go all in to get started with £600 I'd be happy. Not sure if it's possible but that's what. $800? Not sure.
So far the Losi 8ight 2.0RTR looks pretty sweet but I don't want imperial tools. Parts and support should be available from most of the guys at the track so it's all down to me now. Been reading on here and still looking for some alternatives to the costly Mugen and Losi. Hong Nor do have a RTR
CXR1 which looks sturdy and as a good base. Couldn't find a kit version tho. Do I miss a buggy apart from Mugen, Losi, Hong Nor, AE, Kyosho (not sure about sports 7.5)?
My head's definitely spinning. All I would like to race is a solid system which will help me to get started in offroad racing and to improve before advancing to a better system which I then will be able to use.

well if you want a buggy kit than i would have the say look at the hb d8 !

If I could do it over - I would start with buggy. I been running truggy for 3 years. Now Im driving a buggy and having the hardest time with my throttle finger and over steering.
If your serious about racing and learning how to drive - then Buggy

hard question if your new to the hobby then a truggy would be much easier since a buggy takes more time and patience its more sensitive. If you get a buggy 1st my opinion it will make U a better driver a truggy its very forgiving. If you want to run one class get a truggy much easier.
Buggy tires and rims are $20.00 to $40.00 cheaper than truggy. Plus,once you master driving your buggy, truggy will be childs play!

yea, but i just like driving truggy better for various reasons than buggy i did race buggy for about a year with a eight 1.0.
but i get what your saying .
jud: call, me crazy but i ran $90 dignal servos steering and throttle and have last me a long time yea there "steel geared" but i never striped them the only downside is the gears ware faster so the centering goes off overtime.
