Default New OS .21 buggy engine for 2010?

Hi guys, i've heard OS stopped the production of the 21 Vz-b at the end of 2009. So someone knows when there will be a new engine? Any rumors about it's config? (3 port, 5, or what?). Thx in advance

Yes the v-spec has been discontinued and yes I would expect a replacement coming soon. I'm expecting a 21XZB. I really don't know what the engine will be though. I'm hoping they keep it a 3 port like the v-spec is.

i hope they stay with the trend on cheeper high quality motors coming out.

The crank had better be coated. And if that is the case you basicaly have a vspec.

I would like to see O.S. come out with a long stroke 7 port like the toro nero just to see what it would be like.

I don't see how they can come out with a high grade 3 port and keep it under 100$

5 port would be nice too.

I've never been a fan of high port count engines(7 port). I find they lack the bottom end grunt of the lower port engines as well as the fuel mileage. I really would like to see an engine very similar to the v-spec design and power wise but with a few quality improvements. Like a DLC coated crank and a speed/ninja style rod inside a ninja style case. And keep it priced close to what the v-spec was. Basically a ninja with v-spec piston/sleeve in it. I still like the 3 port sleeve of the v-spec over the 5 port sleeve of the ninja. If they do that I will be happy!

I would say they'd better improve their durability and drop their price by $100, but even at $300($50/gallon, apprx) there has never been a shortage of O.S. engines at club races.

The price is fine, all they have to do is make the crank out of harder material.

$529 for a engine is far from fine. With those kind of prices, I'll never run O.S.

You paid 529 for a VSPEC - or SPEED?

I heard (don't know how reliable the source is) but they claim that it will be based off the same design of the current .25 and .21xz. He also said that it would take some ideas from the ninja. IDK....... I would just wait and see. Hope that they understand that with a market that has new engines poppin up all over the place, that they take engine design to the next level to keep the people that brought Vspecs with OS.... Because for the money that Alpha is looking pretty good.

if you pay more than $320.00 for a v-spec..... you got raped, Speed's on the other hand is a different animal all together and Speed's do retail for $500.00 plus with no warranty.
