Looking for a new truggy.
Hi, I currently have an older Revo 2.5R and I want to sell it, I have some work done to it including .18Tm and some other things.
anyways i want to get a truggy since the MT scene is all but dead around here.
so my question is, can you help me pick out a new truggy?
I have some requirements,
1) Needs to be a Kit, not RTR
2) Needs to be tough, I dont want a cheap no name brand truggy.
3) Try to keep it under $650
Well thats about it, lemme hear the suggestions.

I really like the xray xt8
great racing platform, noted winner, durable as heck
i bash the snot out of it and no breaks since i got it about 3 gallons ago
just lost a screw, a cvd pin here and there
xray plain and simple, and i predict that this thread will turn into a post the car you drive thread
good luck deciding

Ill second this one The xt8 looks great going around the track. You cant really go wrong with any of the top names though Mugen, Losi, Ofna/Hobao, Kyosho. Your best bet is to see what your LHS supports part wise.

Well, your choices are the Xray XT8, Mugen MBX5T Prospec, and Kyosho ST-R...
I've owned all 3. You can't go wrong with any of them. IMO, the Mugen is the best. Its the most durable, and handles extremely well.
The XT8 is another great vehicle no complaints either. It definitely has some very nice features that make it easy to work on and durable. Instructions are the best in the biz....
The Kyosho performs great, but IMO, a bit over-priced for what you get. I mean sheet-metal screws, to service the center-diff you have to completely remove the entire center diff housing....

I was running JAMMIN...
I was bouncing between 5t prospec, and XT8.....
I went XT8, #1 not that i seen broken mugens either. BUT i have seen some NASTY hits on XT8's and they keep on trucking. (i think the mugen does the same, never really seen one eat it hard)
Both the mugen and XT8 are great trucks. And i am not going to really argue either one is better. I just enjoy the quality of the XT8.
So after wasting your time with all that.... "I" chose XT8 but either that or the mugen would be my narrowed down 2
