The CEN site is lacking some info, so I"ll ask here:

What radio comes with the rtr?

Is the only difference between the rtr and fte, aside from the rtr gear, the thicker shock towers and hinge pin braces?

How's the build( fte) ? Is it a pile of slop after or is it a finely crafted piece of machinery? How does it compare ( build quality ) to say a Mugen or Xray?

the big differences are the shock towers, pro comes with the machined red ones, rtr has stamped ones, the wheel hexes, pro has blue lightened ones, rtr doesn't, center diff plate, pro has machined red, rtr has stamped, the front rear and rear front suspension holders, pro has machined red, rtr has plastic, and maybe the diff cases, the pro has the aluminum ones, the RTR might have the plastic ones, I'm not sure about that thgouh as I havn't seen the RTR, the clutch might be different as well, the pro comes with aluminum, the RTR might have composite? but again i havn't seen the rtr so I dunno about that,

the RTR engine is supposed to work really good too, and the wheels and tires look good too, either one is a good deal, you do need a body, wheels and tires for the Pro kit thgouh,

the build of the FRE was very good, everything fit the way it should, and I wasn't missing any screws or parts, I actually think I've got extra screws, and there isn't any noticable slop anywhere, except between the hex and the hub, there is a little there, but nothing a shim or two wont take care of, I havn't got to run the truck yet, stupid winter , but at least I will be good and ready once spring comes,

The FRE comes with extra shims.

The quality is very good and the truck goes together perfectly.
The RTR has a different ring/pinion/and clutch bell. The radio is the Skyion digital AM radio. Much better then a non digital radio like with most RTR's, but not as good as a FM digital radio like a JR that comes with the Losi LST2.

Is there a reason CEN went away from the Airtronics MX3 radio? That was a nice selling point there as it is one heck of a radio for the money and is FM.

Still new to nitro, what exactly is the ring / pinion and how is it different?

Speed has many variables, too many for someone to tell you.

Honestly, speed is relative. If you need straightline speed, look into an RC Dragster or that 73MPH vehicle that CEN has.

From what I have read, the CEN Matrix TR goes between 35 - 43 MPH in RTR configuration.

Hey Gene does the all of the hop-up fpr the Matrix fit the Arena TR??
ex: aluminum rear hubs, all of the suspension holders, and aluminum radio tray

Also is there a holder the the front behind the bumper??

If you could please give me a list I'm switch to the both the buggy and truggy.

I seen you guy at the Futaba Nitro Race and i was hooked, all of yall where down to earth and Andrew let me look his truggy over an I loved the way it looked and drove.

You guys have CEN moving in the right direction

lockmouth - the upgrade parts do fit the arena truck, not the alum. radio tray though. i don't know if you have seen the radio tray, it's a single piece compsite material, it appears to stregthen the chassis. your remarks about gene, andrew and the CEN guys is right on. one of the major reasons i swithced to CEN. Hx-racewy is my home track, hope you can make it this year for the Futaba Challenge, it is going to be even bigger and better than last year.
