As far as the engine goes, it's just the 4 top screws, and exhaust mount and throttle servo and boom it comes out and goes back in with the mesh already set

+100 just do it a clean car is good and you will get the exp and knowledge you need to forsee problems before they ruin your next outing. I race on sat and clean all day sunday engine removed inspected ,clutch, bearings. radio tray removed check for faults chassis nut and bolt diff oils once a month or as needed for tuning. Shock as needed /tuning. tires wheels inspected. It only takes as long as you care to go.When I am done it is a new car. well almost ne minust the scratches I get. Good luck.

I tear mine down after every race day and give it a good cleaning. I change my clutch bearings at the same time and inspect all others. If its a 3 day event then it gets tore down 3 times that weekend.

Agreed! And if it's an away event I WILL break out the air compressor in the hotel room. Luckily it's not too loud. I haven't gotten any complaints yet.

Um No...the slop in the 4 mounting bolts will NOT line up just like before it was removed...the screw's have abut .4-.5 of play in them and if your not careful you can throw out the mesh big time and cause further issues....this is what 99.9% of racer's use a Quick change mount with pins that are Guarenteed to sit in the EXACT same spot as before....A Lot of guys think like you are...but when they get told they understand.

to me a full clean is pulling the car right down. removing the diffs and all bearings. pulling the car down to nearly kit form and soaking the parts overnight in simple green. then soak all the screws and metal parts in shellite.
i do this once every 2nd or 3rd month
same except for 2 or 3 month, i do it every gallon of fuel

usually full clean after every practice or race

full clean for me includes
bearing flush and lube
cleaning out old thread loc on parts and screws
inspecting gear mesh and wear and reshimming as needed
inspecting o-rings in shocks and diffs and replacing as needed
diff and shock oils...diff gaskets as needed
replacing bent, worn parts and screws as needed
clutch shoe, springs, bearings inspection and replacement
etc

it just helps with consistency
and with my bad inconsistent driving, i need all the help i can get haha

After every meeting I spend an hour cleaning the car with a jet wash and a brush ( no, not a yard brush, lol)

Diffs are rebuilt
Bearings are taken out, cleaned, and lubed with O'Donells O'Lube
Any broken parts replaced.

Usually put 3 or 4 hours in the following week, getting the car back up to standard for the next race meeting.

Actually spend more time tearing down and cleaning the car then racing.

Average 30-40 mins racing 1-2 hours cleaning every race day.

I tear down every race day, some one said 3,4,5 day event, it gets tore down EVERYNIGHT even if Im up til 2 am. Through trial and error 90% of my DNFs was because I didnt break down and check things out.

I do not rebuild my shocks and diffs unless, I notice a change in my trucks performance. generally I change them once a month or so. If I have to change one shock I change them all. If I change one diff they all get changed. Check and reglue tires, check steering rack make sure nothings binding or borken. Bulk heads same. Check fuel tank, fuel line and ENGINE for leaks.

These things take a beating - you must make sure things are in order.
