What's the best way to clean a hard anodized pipe?

You guys are amazing, if you go to wal-mart and pay $20.00 for a crock pot then YOU have one too that you can "cook" with in the garage. Then you can drop 2 manifolds and pipes in for a couple of hours and voila YOUR crockpot has cleaned YOUR parts.

Just do not use this method on a hard anodized one, it will remove the hard anodizing."

So, oven cleaner, steel wool won't remove hard anodizing? Just checking.

Now that's the kind of information I was looking for ! Thank you very much I will try it out soon and let you know how it works. Might also try out the NEVR-Dull if EZ-off doesn't do the job. I am not interested in cooking coolant but thanks guys. Think, if coolant kills cats and dogs with a few licks probably not to good to inhale for a human

Either way you choose, you're working with some dangerous stuff. It just seems to me that using the crock/anti freeze, you can put it in the garage, shut the door and let it work. Whereas with the EZ Off, you'd physically have to work with it and thereby being exposed to it, inhaling the fumes, risking getting it on your skin or clothes..etc, etc.
Now there IS one more concept to which has not gotten a single vote yet. The more I think about it, it probably is the very best solution. Preventative maintenance. In between runs, pay a little extra attn to it with the air hose or simple green. At the end of the day, clean it seperately. If you blow a gasket, take the time right then to clean it up good. Either way, good luck to all

When using the EZ-OFF, I just put the pipe on a peice of cardboard OUTSIDE, spray it real heavy & go in the house. After 1/2 hour go out hit the pipe with the garden hose & trash the cardboard. Wipe the pipe clean & hit it with the felt pad on the dremal to make it shine again. Wear rubber gloves when handling the ez-off.
