2011 race fees
hope this weather holds out. gettin close race fees will be the same this year with the exception that we will charge $5 if you are gonna use house transponder classes will be sportsman sct, open sct, 1/8 nitro, open 4wheel sct, 1/10 scale buggy, (1/10 scale stadium truck maybe limited schedule), and a rookie class

i am going to sell memberships for those of you who want to practice it will be $40 bucks for all year any time you want to practice. practice is $10 bucks per day everywhere else so this is a steal pm me if you are interested. membership will include a key for the electric box

Remember that each transponder is about 90 bucks each so it take 10 per race so that is roughly 1000.00 up front that Matt shells out and then if someone tears or rips a wire or drags it down the straightaway and breaks it the 5.00 dollar does not cover the replacement cost of the transponder.
I know it stinks to buy one but get one and use it in mutiple vehicles is 100.00 well spent and they hold their value if u need to sell them used.
Plus it keeps people from leaving them in the cars and not bringing them back until a few weeks later.
I understand both sides of the story but for the experienced racer make the investment maybe novice class should get the pass on the transponder fee but let the more experienced racer help those new guys and make sure it is mounted correctly in the car to prevent the damage to the transponders.

I myself have a personal already... My concern is for my brother and cousin who cant really afford to race as it is and will likely not attend enough races to make the $5 a race cover the cost of a transponder so buying one isn't such an easy thing to do.

while i think $90 in the grand scheme of things RC is pretty cheap, matt may have a point. some people don't have alot of extra money lying around and $15 to race for a night is already taxing them a bit....
the main problem last year was people treating them like they stole them, dangling out of cars and forgetting to return them. maybe a deposit would help this, and as scott said, someone needs to ensure they are installed correctly and cleanly, so they don't get damaged.
how do other local tracks deal with this?

Okay I'm confused as usual. I was paying $5 extra last year to use one of Matt's. I guess I was the only one getting charged? Oh well, if it helps with track maintenance and keeping it going then I don't care seeing as how I can't get up there during the week to help Matt with it or get there early enough to help rake and water.

I'll order one for myself before spring races start up.
Also, to keep them from getting damaged, maybe Matt can order a bunch of holders and sell them and essentially make a rule, no transponder holder mounted, no racing.
Speaking from experience and being guilty of having one drag around a time or two. I was out of racing for like more than a 15 years so there was a lot of new stuff when I came back. I was used to transponders being held in with body clips.
Velcro and/or servo tape doesn't always hold without being allowed to cure for a while. That's why I think it'd be a good idea to make everybody who is going to "rent" one of Matt's have a permanently mounted transponder holster.
Anyway, enough of my babbling, it's just an idea.
Don't forget the $4 a gallon gas that we'll have by summer. Ima have to trade my Durango or Jeep in on a Prius just to afford to get back and forth, LOL
