New material possible.
New internal ratio I think unlikely but possible.
Even if the diff ring gear is enlarged - I think maybe/likely as mentioned earlier - doesn't automatically mean an internal ratio change.
Currently it is 37t for the pulleys, my guess is a move to 39t (like the TRF503) or maybe 40t (like the BD7)

I'm running the aluminum Samix chassis on my 418 and I notice the chassis bows up where you tighten down the separate mounts. Loosen them and the bow goes away. It could be that or the Samix chassis is using the wrong countersink angle for their screw holes.
[...]
Another possibility is that the chassis holes are not exactly matched up with those in the suspension blocks.

My 418
Black rear diff, new Blocks, Motor Mount.
Very boring the old car. Where are the new shoks?
No reason to buy the new 418 X

Gathered a few more photos on the blog... http://kentech.blogs.se/
Regarding the dampers I think you will find that the changes are such that they are not easy to spot from the outside.

Tech Regular
Car looks nice but the problem is they are always one step behind yokomo now especially when the bd7 2015 comes out.

Why is this not a 418X or something? I'm new to TC so maybe I just do not know better, but looking at the pictures and descriptions of the changes, is this really a "new" car.
