The 3Racing dampers will work just fine. Good bang for the buck.
It would also be advisable to invest in a good set of springs. The Tamiya 53333 (short touring car springs) are probably your best bet, and they're cheap, too.

guys im after some advice....just got my M-05 and the friction shocks are like pogo sticks.
I have read about getting the TRF shocks.... is it worth paying for the Tamiya set, or is the Hobbysave JazRider set, or the 3 racing set just as good?
Im totally new to the world of tamiya.
Thanks

go for the Tamiya-shocks if you can afford. They are simply VERY good and it keeps your car "Tamiya" which is a must in our country (Belgium) if you want to compeed in the National Tamiya-cup.
Also it will be easier to find Shock-setup-advice for the TRF-shocks ... allthough there is not much you can do on the shocks of a mini. Just get them right and you will probably never have to change them.

The shock oil you use can be dependant on the number of holes in the piston. The pistons you have fitted in the shock will either make the shock either reactive or less reactive. The other factor is the type of shock you are using. The super mini CVA's will have a different reaction to the TRF shock. The TRF shock will have better damping action due to better build quality and less internal resistance.
However as Greg has said if using TRF then 40 Wt all round is a good starting point, with either two or three hole piston.
Just my two cents worth.

Calvin.

Rozzt_iwa,
I currently run similar to your spring setup, however you can go to the attached link and they will say it does not matter. It all comes back to your track, car setup, tyres and your driving technique.
Thanks TonyG for the rc mini site.

What about the Tamiya TRF M chassis dampners. They are a little shorter than the on-road shocks?
