The host track does not have any 25.5 TC competitors. None. Their biggest (only) classes are 17.5 TC and USVTA.

The Professor, NutDriver, and I all race at the host track. We ALL race USVTA every time we're there. I even bring a loaner USVTA car every time for anyone who wants to try or race USVTA.

There has NEVER been a 25.5TC on this track. Like NutDriver said, the main classes there are 17.5TC and USVTA.

So this decision was not made with the local racers in mind.

And speaking of promoting USVTA, I've found the loaner car is a GREAT way to get people into the class, or on-road in general.

Most of us have an old TC chassis gathering dust in the closet. Put a 25.5 motor in it, grab an 'old obsolete' 5000 mAh pack, and slap on a beat up body on it and some used tires. That's what I've done with my TC4. Novak 25.5, Novak club ESC (or any cheap ESC), some 'tired' SMC 5000 mah packs that are a couple of years old and my used VTA bodies and tires. I picked up an Futaba 3PM radio & Rx for less than $70 on Ebay to complete the package.

I provide the car, radio, and transponder, all they have to do is pay the entry fees and for any crash damage. Which hasn't been much, the TC4 is a TANK! In the last couple of seasons of doing this, we've had quite a few people try it and then become USVTA racers (or at least bought an on-road car).

I enjoy giving back and promoting the class!!

Also, I use this car as my outdoor asphalt car, and surprisingly it still is competitive, with TQ's and wins at our local outdoor track. So it does double duty.

If ROAR was really about the racers, you'd think they would run a class that was already in place for most drivers instead of creating a class that doesn't really exist in the region.

Wait a minute! This is a regional race. Since when does ROAR decide what classes are run at a Regional? Last time I looked, 25.5 TC isn't a ROAR class.

You guys have every right to be .

What does the track owner have to say.

Let's see if I can be politically correct for a moment....
The track owner is a laissez faire type. I believe that there is another source influencing this. (Returning stopper to my pie hole).

Typically, a host track can determine what classes it wants to run at a ROAR race. Races like nationals require certain classes (e.g. Mod sedan in a worlds qualifier year) but there is leeway for local decisions on classes.

At carpet nats this year in my we had pro ten and f1 but 1 person signed up for pro10 and 2 for f1.
Locally there isn't a big crowd for either but f1 has picked up and grown by 2 heats in less than 2 months

Well, it happened.

And even earlier than I thought. Most of the local racers are already starting g to convert their cars to 25.5 TC for the ROAR race in SEPTEMBER. And I don t mean just the USVTA guys. I'm mean the couple hot shots that podium every race 17.5 guys. Because they are scared of sponsored guys showing up. So now they decide to sandbag the slower class too.

Thanks ROAR for effectively killing two classes simultaneously at one track.

it will be okay...keep your VTA guys united and continue to race. If the ROAR event has decided to take in that 25.5 TC class over VTA, I would contact the ROAR officials and local track owner that you guys have a strong VTA following and would like to keep it that way

I'm lucky I'll race any of the TC classes against whoever hotshoe or otherwise, why, because my goal is to one of those guys, so......
