I use WD-40 or Zip Grip. they both work great but WD-40 is alot cheaper!

IMHO the write up on neobuggy is silly, "tire sauce" is nothing new we've been using it for years in electric 10th scale buggy while running on indoor clay tracks. Not all tire additives work the same, some work better at different track moisture content or on different tire compounds, but for the most part it's all trial and error to find the "best one". However if the track is anything other than groomed indoor hard packed clay your pretty much wasting your time with "sauces"

I've never tried anything other than cleaning with simple green, not sure if that would be considered an additive. I was thinking it would only work on a hard packed surface, anything dusty seems like it would wear the sauce off quick. Would like to hear what people are using. Does it last long or just a handful of laps until tire wear sets in.

Xylene, its paint thinner, has been used for years in racing. You can purchase it at any Home Depot or Lowes.

I've never tried any on my nitro car usually the tracks around here are too dusty or dry for it. When I ran 10th scale we would prep to track with a lot aeration holes and applied a ton of water to track days before a major race it would almost turn the dirt into "silly-putty" but not muddy. When race day came we would run losi taper pins or panther switches ground/dremeled down to slicks then apply your favorite tire additive. you would have so much traction it was driving on Velcro you could do instant wheelies on demand with a mod motor and it's agreed to traction roll if you drove to hard into corners.

nitro/electric motor cleaner followed by setting it on fire (no joke it does work!)

This is a hard thing to make illlegal. be it good or bad where do you draw the line?
I for one will store my tires with WD40 Simpel Green on them have also been using buggy grip. does it make me faster? more than likely not.but I just may have to try the motor cleaner and fire

if you want your tires softer why not just buy super softs? do you want your tires to grip or do you want the dirt to stick to your tires??? sticky tires=less traction due to build up

Believe it or not you can have too soft of a tire which will have less traction due to the pins folding over. In general most of the tire tricks/additives are used for indoor racing which seem to work the best with "clay compounds" like JC Gold, Losi Pink, Proline MC, Panther Clay, and HB Pink.

i just got out of go cart racing and if you arent prepping tires you are losing. There are chemicals that will give you more bite without softening the tire. There are also tire cleaners that will prevent dirt buildup. i dont know how useful this would be in rc cars though. Most go cart racers prep from the inside of the tire.
