TCXX is still competitive! =0
The traction roll issue could be the gravity tires. They are fast, but sometimes need to glue the sidewalls when traction is high

TCXX is still very competitive on the rug!

I tried everything I could with the limited amount of time I had. It got me into the A in amateur. The whole team were gluing sidewalls. I just wish I can race on carpet more often. I guarantee ill get the car dialed. But as for now I only have one week a year to tune

Yes I was running the 2014 kit. Very nice upgrade. Contact Danny at Apex rc, he might have the last couple of kits in stock.

Last year I ran out of the box kit with 2.25 option chassis, Yokomo springs, and changed shock/ diff fluid. The car was in the ballpark for carpet racing. I think XX car stock , was meant for asphalt racing. But the car has many option parts for carpet.

Time to rebuild the car again for asphalt season

When you say "gluing sidewall" could you give me an idea of what exactly you mean. I am thinking that you mean you are gluing the tire to the raised section of the rim, rather than just the base.

1-1.5mm above the rim. On the gravity tires, I was glueing right above the wording on the actual rubber.

I am gathering that you are looking to stiffen up the sidewall to reduce flexing in the tire

You're taking away grip from the sidewall so as the tire flexes and rolls it doesn't bite and flip the car.
I coat the entire sidewall from wheel to mid radius, then while slowly rotating the tire I smooth it with plastic. Let it dry and it'll be shiny, but not stiff.
It's best to use glue that is medium setting
