The only downside I could see is that I expect the Ten-T might have a performance advantage over most of the competitors.

the eight is a 1/8 buggy and the eight -t ,is a truggy thats the diffrence.
now could you affrord a losi eight rtr, i dont know whats your budget?

na its all about the driver reguardless, if the ten-t has lower center of gravity. if that is what you mean.

The quality of the Ten-T is great. I recently got back into RC, but I have been building them since the 1980s, and this is the best quality RC vehicle I have ever owned...Although the original RC10 was pretty awesome for it's day. I have probably built over 20 RC cars throughout the years. The Ten-T is incredibly strong and fast. I just disassembled and rebuilt the whole thing (or most of it) yesterday and I am impressed with it.

I swapped out the diff grease in all 3 diffs for oil and rebuilt the shocks and swapped the rear springs. It seems more responsive, but I need to get it on the track for testing.

I think the main difference of the 8ight and 8ight-T are engine size, length of the A-Arms, wheels/tires, Body and probably some chassis length. I am sure the experts can get more specific. But basically the 8ight is a big/wider 8ight with more engine and tires and a truck body. I suspect it is more stable and less nimble.

I've always prefer buggies myself, and since that is what is raced at my track, the choice is easy for me.

Well I know the driver will mean far more than anything, but the Ten-T has really high quality diffs and suspension. I know if I compare it to my HPI MT2, the performance isn't close. The Ten-T would destroy the MT2 with everything else being equal.

i dont think i can go more than 700$ USD

so the 8ight would be more nimble, and the 8ight-t is a truggy, and has a bigger engine.

yes the eight buggy is more nimble and lighter , the downside is though that it sits lower on the ground ,and cant go over bigger things . a truggy is perfect for bashing sits higher, you can drive it harder and strong as hell.


the rtr eight -t has a 454 engine which i think is a .28 , but truggys run good with a .21 engine like buggys do.


the eight-t rtr is about $700 but im sure if you, look around you can find one for cheaper.

Well the 8ight would be around $700 with tax once you include the batteries for the starter box and receiver. But a good servo will cost an extra $100-150 from what everyone is telling me.

I honestly think the Ten-T is your best option. Unless you really think you will want to regularly race (which you don't), the Ten-T will probably exceed your expectations. It pretty much has all the goodies the 8ight has, except with an onboard starter. The engines are basically the same size (340 vs 350). And the Ten-T includes a Lipo for the receiver and a charger for it. So for $450 ($500 with tax or shipping) you get everything you need except for fuel.

I also recommend you buy a hotter glow plug. The stock one doesn't seem to like to start during these cold months....even here in California.

The Ten-T is technically a .20, but it is just a fraction from a .21. They are a 340 versus a 350 (or 3.4 versus 3.5).

alright i got it

i think the 1/8th scale are going to end up being out of my budget.

everywhere i have asked there has been at least one person recommending the 10T.

what glow plug should i get? MC59? MC8?

I was suggested the A3 plug and it has been working flawlessly.

And yeah, the Ten-T is a super value. You get a ton of bang for your buck. The 8ight RTR is also a great value, but when you compare the two, the Ten-T is an even better value still since you get everything to run for far less $$$ and the majority of the parts are identical.
