Last time we raced outdoors in a parking lot we blew it off with a leaf blower and sprayed it down with dollar store grape soda(faygo for u ICP fans) let it sit in the sun for an hour and good to go. Once we were done for the day grabbed the hose and sprayed the area down. Never had any complaints about it still bring sticky. For tires ive really started to like the tires off associateds apex. They have a cool looking tread pattern and hook and wear surprisingly well.

My friend Bill is answering a question about what is a good FDR for a 21.5 motor. My answer is, it depends on the motor. I've run between 2.9 (by accident & I was about as fast as Bill was that day) and 3.6 depending on the power band off the motor. High torque/low rpm motors like numerically smaller FDRs, and high RPM/low torque motors like numerically larger FDRs. The motor I'm currently running was fast at a 3.2 FDR, but awesome at 3.6. For safety, start at a large FDR 3.6 or 3.8 (i.e., a low gear ratio) and start decreasing the FDR in increments ( I use 0.2 increments, which with my spur gear and internal gear ratio is about 2 teeth on the pinion) and note both the lap times and motor temps as you do. When the lap times stop decreasing and/or the motor temps get to 160F you have reached the sweet spot. Now go back to where the lap times have leveled off and the motor temps are the lowest and that's your FDR for that motor at that track.

I ran my 24mm Rides last weekend on 26mm wheels hoping they would work because of the wider variety of offsets available and they hooked up great in the main (once I got the same offsets on the front and rear or the car) and I almost kept up with Bill. BTW Bill, I found the set screw in the pinion came out that's why my car stopped running in the 12 minute main with 90 seconds left.

I mounted my ride spec tires on 26mm tamiya enzo wheels and was surprised with how well they fit. They look like they belong.

If you like the Associated Apex tires, try the Ride USGT SPEC tires. they are about te same price, but perform awesome compared to the APEX tires! My neighbor Alec was using the Apex tires on my car in novice class and I switched him over to the Rides SPEC tires and he won by 3 laps. BIG BIG difference!

Agree they fit and look great; but for me mine worked great one race. The next time out they didn't work. I just switched to another set of tires but on 24mm wheels and the car hooked up again and since then I have had many races on the same set of tires. Never found anything wrong with the tires on 26mm wheels, they just went into the Acetone tub for a long soak.
