help with prolonging throttle servo in losi 8
ok first off i have used high dollar to chepo servos in my losi 8 1.0 buggy i have the tft chassie and am going thru throttle servos. any tips or tricks u have done would be helpfull. i was told it was from the chassie flexing and breaking the circut board. and that the heat kills them but 6 in a month dnt u think thats crap

First make sure the linkages are as straight a humanly possible, next make sure when you hold full throttle on the controller, the throttle barrel can still be pulled an extra 1-2mm. I also don't run the return spring on the linkages, in stead I run rubber bands on the carb. When braking the spring can put a lot of stress on the servo. Also make sure the brakes are adjusted right so the servo isn't working harder than it needs to.

Are you running the rear screw in the radio tray loose? The one under the RX and battery compartment does not need to be hard mounted, put two small o-rings over the screw before mounting the tray and snug the screw just to where the screw is not sticking out of the chassis. That will let the rear of the box float rather than create the twisting stress at the servo.

i still dont understand how all of these people are burning up lipos like crazy in the losi buggies. i ran a 1.0 buggy for about 9 months and a 2.0 for another 14 months or so and i never went through one servo. maybe i was just one of the few lucky ones but i was running a jr 9100t on steering and an 8800s on throttle both of them on direct lipo and NEVER had one problem (knock on wood)

Make sure the servo isnt hitting the chassis guard I was having the same problem when I got the kit spent over 400 bucks on high end servos. Adjusting the linkages is key make sure your not over extending. Make sure your linkage isn't binding I sanded mine down a tad (Throttle).

Yep,what they said...I ran out of the orings and started using a small piece of fuel tubing(same thickness of 2 orings) as my spacer and have since then.
I also use a strip of double sided tape on the bottom of the servo to give it a lil buffer if it takes a bad hit(reassurance) which happens on a regular basis with my driving...lol.

Losi front brake is a little funny. I almost had it when i got my first car.
if you push, the front brake top linkage wire by hand, you can feel the front brakes rod travel till half way mark only and not beyond which other buggies in the market goes further than that.
All I did was limit my brake throw without using the dremel and have not broken anything yet.
