Here's the Hellfire stuff from Lunsford...

https://www.lunsfordracing.com/mm5/m...Code=TRUC-HPHF

Switching over to the Lunsford ball studs and rod ends on the Savage really helped. It looks like a person would have to buy these seperate for the Hellfire. The Savage kit I got from Lunsford came with everything.

I just went and looked at the Hellfire. There really isn't a lot of slop in the linkage (tie rods and balls). It seems that most of it is coming from within the steering assembly, like the servo saver (it moves up and down a bit when left/right pressure is applied to the wheels. Also, there's a slight bit of play in the servo link. It's interesting how this tiny bit of slop in these places seems to be amplified by the time it gets to the tires.

I have solved a lot of play by making a new servo saver

I made it myself. It is made out of bronze because it is a bearing material. So it has som lubricating from itself. Alu is none to get real agressive on othere parts when it gets less smooth.

Hellsavage,
That's a sweet "home-made" part! Not quite repeatable for most people though.

You should make a load of those and sell them on eBay. How does it perform anyway?

I made it yesterday and mounted it this aftenoon. I drove it a tank and it seems to work out fine. For a real test I will have to wait until 19 aug so I can see what it does in a real race. I will test it this sat but it will not be on a real track. Just on a field outside my town. I did make a few extra but not muts. Maybe Madhacker would want to test one for me. I would like to make some more but as U can see these machines I use are for mass production so most of the time they are producing. If I want to make some more it will not be for atleast a few weeks. Besides I do this in my spare time when the weather is bad and the machine is not running on othere parts.
But Ebay is not a bad thought maybe I will.

I don't think you will have to twist MadHacker's rubber arm very hard to test one of those for you......

Sorry man, I haven't seen anyone using these, so I can't offer an opinion. Anyone else?

Yes, aluminum tends to get sticky as a bearing surface, and pits easily. I think using bronze is a great idea!

How long did it take you to program this part into the CNC machine, Hellsavage?

@Madhacker
It took me 60 min to get it started and 3 min a piece to produce.
After I need to drill the mounting hole and do some deburing so it is smooth.
I drill the hole to 2.7mm so the schrew makes the thread and the nut is just for locking the schrew.
I did not make the backside with the counter hole. I mounted the locking ring upside down so the spring does not grind in the ring. This makes adjusting mare ease.
