YZ2 DT Ball Diff
I just got one of the DT cars last week and started building it over the weekend and I was wondering if anyone else experienced a flat spot after building the ball diff?
I got the diff together and went to rotate it and I felt a slight flat spot. I am sure that this is not typical but, I also not sure what is normal. I have run Kyosho's and never experienced this issue. has anyone else.? Thanks!

I am looking into getting a 2wd buggy for stock racing on a clay track (SDRC in San Diego, CA). Would the CA (with diff) or the DT version be recommended for 17.5? I think the traction is considered high for a dirt track. Thoughts?

So no flat spot here.

So I would guess you would want the DT.

Tito won the jbrl round in 17.5 with a laydown car. People run both there competitively. This is up to you and your driving style.

If you want to drive "touring car" style, then CA, if you want to drive "point and shoot" style, DT. IMO

Thanks for all the help guys... I havent driven an RC car in over 10 years and when I did it was primarily 4wd touring cars. Found a good deal on a used YZ-2 CA Edition so I will be running that when it arrives... Cant wait!
What non-Yokomo wheels are people running? Also, speaking of the front wing trend, seems like a number of people at my track run one and anyone have any suggestions on which one to get for the YZ-2??
UPDATE: Ended up getting Yokomo front and rear wheels from Amain. Also ordering the proline front wing mount as a tuning option (along with picking up recommended tires, spurs/pinions, and ball stud spacers from local shop).
Also looking for a good starting setup for clay. Not sure who Tito is but I will have to see if I can get his JBRL setup for SDRC (assuming that he drove a YZ-2).
UPDATE: Fount some YZ-2 setups on PetitRC for OCRC that I will use as a baseline.
Thanks!

Got my new yz-2 out saturday night and ended up 3rd in the A after literally the first time running it. Didn't run the front wing that night but I'm trying it out tomorrow night. Put a little weight out front to help with the tight corners. Jumped amazing with 60 wt up front and 50 in the rear. (Maybe stiffer than what people run on Ozite carpet, but worked well for me). Picked up some new gears and might try 84/18 for a 10.5T motor... my motor hits the trans with the stock 80t spur so I seems like i will have to go with larger spur and around a 19 or 18 pinion. Hopefully it isn't too low but we shall see!
