J-P:

I used the motor out of the box... it was brand new so I guess is those F brushes or what ever they call it.... it had Red- / Purple+ springs and it didnt rev like my Demon Monster nor dynoed particularly well. As we had a micky mouse track laout (AGAIN!! WL take note!!! I WANT THE GP TRACK!!!) thats why I ecided to try it cos it seem to have a bit of torque and it did pull strong.
As for ratios... wouldnt you like to know! what were you running?

sonneteer,

if it didnt look good on your dyno, the TRACK DYNO proved that wrong , as im finding out its not all about dyno's!! as mr jolly says the best dyno is the track.

i agree the GP track should be used more often.

I'll pm you my ratio if you pm me yours

precisely my point... I dyno things to see if I have missed something and use it as a rebuild reference, and gauge what ratio I should start with.... it never really tells me anything real... I much prefer to use lap times but then one can only do that when they can run 5 mins without smashing about... and I can just about do that...

Ratios.... I already told you the range to try.. as it depends of type of car, tyre diameter and driving style... and I think you need mine more that I need yours (joke!)

Do you think Mr Jolly is looking for a driver

Have you been gearing it higher to make use of the torque and narrowing the brushes to keep it cooler?
Mr Jolly, any idea when the ROARs are coming in?

Right okay here goes
Just spoke to EA still have no roars from trinity, so i am sourcing some roars else where, won`t be `EA` ones but mine & EA hands are tied
monsters are okay as is 19tc2`s brushes will be here also
but the roars are proven to be a pain in the butt
so it`s sorry to the UK racers waiting for these roar thing`s

The person i feel sorry for is mini he`s been banking on these for month & bit now for the scottish GP

I have a shipment exspected weds or thurs this week(fingers crossed)

Looke like i might come to the next WLRC meeting to have a run outdoors with the pro`s

i know that i usually go 2-3 teeth higher with my EA motors, but the faces arent narrowed. they like to pull out of the corners, for sure! plus, i get like 5 or 6 runs on the F-brush between replacement, easy.

Running 64dp, if not 2-3 teeth is quite a lot! What ratios have you been running on medium carpet with the monster? Around 7.2 worked the best i felt on my xray, im going to start at 7.31 with my barracuda.

Nope I geared it exactly the same as I would with a similarly sprung Monster. The motor had a bit more torqe while top end was same so no need to use a bigger pinionand lose that acceleration since I already got the top end... as to keep it cooler... it was 6 degrees out there!!! no like I said before I ran it out of the box, the only thing I did was to put it in the car and drop in a pinion....

Yeah Colin next meeting come down mate... bout time you breath in some fresh air and not carpet fur....
