Ball diff thrust bolt head usually face where the spur gear is.

Oh here we go again.

In my 25+ years of racing it didn't matter what side the diff thrust head bolt was on. The vehicles all performed as expected.

If you find a method that works for you, great! I don't plan on trying to convince you one way is better than the other.

From a mechanical point of view, either way works.
From a adjusting / service point of view, it's easier to adjust both diff and slipper from the same side.

Good point but my diff bolt is on the opposite side of the slipper because it is easier for me to access it and quickly adjust it. Something about not seeing as good as I used to when I was younger probably has something to do with it. I will go back to my cave now.

I always face mine opposite of the spur. So I can use a different adjusting get wrench without less effort.

Default Low Pro Servo

I'm trying to run a Spektrum low profile servo S6070, in my B5M Lite but the steering link contacts the front of the servo and doesn't allow full travel with the stock servo arm. Do you run a longer servo arm or mill the servo case to clear?

I am running the same servo in mine, I am using a TLR servo arm. It has a slight offset, I am also using a 2mm spacer behind the ballstud to keep the steering link in line.

The TLR servo arm is STD thread so I did have to tap it out to metric.

The instructions do tell you which side the bolt head goes on, whether you are using the 3 or 4 gear trans. I have seen a couple times where people have diffs that loosen up on their own and the screw was on the wrong side according to the instructions and when flipped over the problem was solved.

As long as I have been running AE cars it (bolt head) has usually been on the right side of the car, regardless of spur gear orientation.

I run the TLR arm I had on my 22 with a slight offset on my S6040 in the B5M but it doesn't clear the low profile. If your running a spacer on the ballstud it must have more of an offset. Do you have a pic or part #?

I did a search. Looks like some mill the case and the link.

Default B5m laydown

What is the verdict on the laydown transmission? B5M newbie wondering if it's worth the price on a roller I'm looking at buying for spare parts.

I run Savox in my B5M and T5M, had to take a few shavings off with my exacto, and I enlarged the servo mount holes to push the servo rearward about a mm or so...

I dont remember shaving the case at all, but I could be wrong. No pictures of my car but I am using this horn. (whichever spline is the right one for the Spektrum. I am also using the same one on my T5M and my SC5M. Neither of the trucks are using shorty servos.

I put an ACRC laydown in mine for stock racing. Had to make a few changes as far as setup goes. But it handles a lot smoother around corners and jumping is close to the same.
