Why are you selling? And for how much? Not sure if I'm ready to buy just yet, but I will soon

The Ofna boys look like they're holding their own at the Winternats

Hope they fare well this weekend!

Has anyone sorted out the diff problem?

I recently purchased a pro kit and am in the process of putting it together.

I am starting to believe that i may have made a mistake in buying this kit, as I can't seem to get the rear diff to turn smoothly. I find this very annoying.

As long as the diffs are shimmed properly and they turn without binding, you will be fine. They are noisy and a bit notchy when new, but break in nicely. If you can fins 2x6 mm machined screws, use them instead of the tapping screws that came with the diff.

If its notchy she only needs to bed in. If its locking up you have stuffed up on the shims

And no mistake - the kit rocks!

I think some people bed the diffs in on a drill press, I just did mine in the car <grin>

you guys are all looking in the wrong direction for the diff screws. back in the days of my LD3 i had serious issues with my diff stripping, then i stumbled across these little babies, Tamiya 2x8 self tapping screws, tamiya part no. 50573. my rear diff was stripped to hell and back and the normal 2x6 screws would not grab inside my diff, letalone 2x6 machine screws. after whacking the 2x8 diff screws in the diff was a rock solid performer for a years worth of hassle free racing. the way the screws are (no pointed end) seems to grab the plastics inside the diff better and be alot more consistent then any other ive tried.

I actually got the Tamiya 2x8 screws. They were a bit longer than the diff case. I could see the screw start to stretch the diff housing. On one, I believe a bit of fluid started to seep thru! That's why I want to go with the 2x6 machine screws instead.

The 2x8s did work, though, I will say that.

Default More diff questions...Crystal Park

I'm building my CD3 Pro....what diff oil/grease should I use for the rear. The manual has me using grease(I think) but from looking back in this forum it seems like everyone is using oil in various weights. I run at Crystal Park.....so I'm asking for advice on what to use. I usually run 1/8 so gear diffs are new to me. This is my first go at sedans so I would like to try a setup that will get me around the track without too much difficulty. Any set up information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For Crystal Park you can run either the OFNA 120,000 or the Mugen 100,000.
