Bel ray filter oil... tacky and cheap. and fresh filters everytime. I can make filter go a few weekends by being religious with filter outer wraps.
I use 3M vetrap, cost like a 1.50 a roll and I will put a fresh wrap on the filter after every couple runs or when it looks even a bit dirty. can make your filters go much longer, but more importantly, keep a consistent tune on the motor. As the filter gets dirty, even slightly, it will change the airflow to the carb.

Frank, If your only using your filters once or twice and then throwing them away, throw them in a bag and I'll take them at the next race. I clean mine with NO TOIL cleaner and they come out like new.

On my RC8B and RC8T im running the stock filter elements with OFNA air filter oil, and it seems like it works really well. I raced the 1st rd of the RCPRO south race 2 weeks ago and the track was pretty dusty and I never once seen any dirt to the inner filter all weekend I kept washing and blowing my outer filter out after practice and between rounds and once again before the mains..

Maxima FFT foam filter treatment is as good as there is to me, just wont wash off fingers LOL, for you that clean filters try this, I save about 30 then soak in unleaded gas and swish a couple times, then to the kitchen sink with DAWN dish soap and hot water, it will stink the house, I then put in clothes drier and tumple on low or just air dry, the drier sucks all or any dirt residues etc, and as they tumble it helps to dislodge anything that may be there. It does not cost 2$ each to clean filters. And this method works very well.Dave

Traxxas.

I use the bel-ray oil and to clean my filters i soak them in naphtha. The naphtha gets the filter looking like new and does not harm the foam filter.

Actually I found some traxxas laying around and its actually pretty tacky(has spider web effect but not too much) and washes off with dish soap and water. Maybe Iwill try it next time Im out.

Bought the Fluidz filter oil and it sprays on CLEAR.. How are you supposed to know that filter is completely covered with oil? Am I dealing with a bad can of oil or what?
