Default New Mugen MBX-6?!!!

Kris Moore was interviewed yesterday during the Euros and said that next year Mugen will be looking for something new and exciting, that the equipment they are running is a little old and that next year it will be allot newer...

New MBX-6? Lets hope it's true...

i dont think Losi did that great, there are only 1 or 2 things that i like of the losi 8ight and T that i would like to see on a mugen.

I think Team Losi did great on the 8ight. They thoght about new ways to go fast. They did not copy anything at all from other cars. Its new and differnt. It may not be the fastest, but it is Awsome that they tryed somthing new. The 2nd version should be a big winner for Team Losi.

PS, I drive Mugen's

Is just the path for a new car but don't hold your breath... the new model if shows up will not be seen until the worlds or after the worlds and this will not happen until next year, so meanwhile, enjoy/race the actual model.

Making the drivetrain lighter is definately something that Mugen should do. The MBX-5 is much heavier then the Losi. However, reliability - a very strong asset of the current car - should not be compromised.

Also, the steering system should be optimised, especially the tie rods which are clushing with the ball links at full droop.

Make the lower front pin more accessible

Make the diffs leak-free wihtout the use of any mods.

Better brakes

That's all i can think for now - I'm soon i have some more bits an peaces
Any thoughts?

It seems that the Losi started a less obvious movement in design. Rumor has it that a change we will see on the Jammin will be shorter rear arms with wider inner pivot mounts (the O'donnell buggy is like this too) so maybe that will be another change.

Don't get me wrong guys I love my Losi but I doubt the 8 had anything to do with triggering a new Mugen design. Look a Mugens history. The MBX5 is about 5 years old (ya I know its been upgraded to the R). This is about right for the normal cycle of new designs from Mugen. As I recall the MBX4 (& 4R & RR) was around for about 4 to 5 years also before the MBX5 came out. Will it be lighter & have a lower CG etc, etc? I'm sure it will, every new version of every car improves all that stuff.

I didn't mean that Mugen was responding to anyone else's design, just speculating on what they could be changing, the hinge pin spacing has been popping up here and there. I could also see them devising a way to adjust the front upper arm length to change roll center more. Probably will have the gearing from the MBX5T also for more gearing adjustability at the cb/spur. If the car debuts at 08 worlds it will probably be selling in fall 08. Right on time given their history.
