I just got the March 2006 issue of RCCA Mag.
they reported in the specification: Chassis being 3mm 6061 aluminum plate. ARE THEY RIGHT?
because based on CENRACING.COM/RCU review/RC CAR MAG and if I'm not mistaken RC Driver Mag they all have it as 3mm 7075 aluminum

can somebody clarify this for me please,
thanks.
Jr.

All the aluminum on the car is hardend 7075 so you know. That 6061 is some kind of typo (which most RC Magazines are really really good at).

WOW, there are a ton of CEN Lovers here! I am glad to see that!

If you have any questions about this car, you can ask me if you wish. I race for CENRACING.com and will be working at their distribution center in Yorba Linda, CA. starting in Feb.

Thanks for the support guys!

UE

PS - I made this avatar and if any of you wish to use it you have my permission to ues the CEN avatar!

I currently own the Matrix RTR version with some upgrades, its the same vehicle as the one used in the rcuniverse review.

Anyway, can you contact the powers that be at CEN and have them do the following ASAP:

1. Provide an engine tuning document specifically for the NX .26 engine in all further Matrix RTR kits as well as post this ASAP on the website. There is an owner on rcuniverse who is in need of this info and hasn't received any responses from CEN via email.

2. Work on having better email support response to owners of the vehicle. Since the phone number to cen is not toll free, many owners will try the email route and unfortunately it doesn't seem as if they are getting any responses. I am not sure if this could be a spam filter thing or that guys are away at races, but to improve CENs image, this needs to be addressed pronto. The vehicle may be the bee's knees, but if support is lacking, owners will become former owners which would be a real shame.

3. Have a nicer version of the setup sheet made. the Genesis / nemesis one is more pleasing to the eye than the current Matrix one.

4. An initial setup sheet is needed that states shock oil and diff fluid settings.

5. Better foams should be put into the stock tires.

I am currently looking to find out if the tigerdrive unit will work with the buggy. I will post what I find out.

I did my teardown sunday, overall I am very impressed, everything felt heavy duty. I think the only thing that I would like to see in a later version would be getting rid of the E clips that hold the various hingpins on. but other than that, I am quite happy.

By the way, anyone know the best way to clean a fuel filter?

Try contacting Gene Hickersen from post #10 above at Machine's R/C. He is a factory CEN driver and should be able to help your or direct you to where you can buy the kit.

Of the ones listed, who is the best bang for the buck?

Anyone have trouble getting the bearings out of the cast knuckles? Mine are like stuck. Was thinking of trying some WD-40 or some lithium grease to get them out. Was also told to try using a hair dryer to warm them up as well.
