Default need lipo advice (starter box)

ok my lipo died. it was a 4s 4400, i race two classes and my dad races so we wanna keep about the same mah rating. i was looking around, it looks like i can spend from 75-200+ on a lipo. but what i was wondering is a lipo a lipo? im not worried about c rating as its in a starter box, not racing lol.

im looking at a lipo on ebay for 4s 4000mah, i can get two of these for 25 bucks, or i go to amain and get a thunderpower 4200 4s for 180. i need opinions please

No need to spend more than $50.

Your paying for the brand name. Chances are those $100+ lipos are made in the same factory as those $20 packs. However, for brands like Losi. You're also getting their customer service/warranty.

exactly like the other post says your buying the name and customer service i am sure there is probably more now but there used to only be 2 factories making lipo cells that were sold with many different stickers on them for various prices

I just picked up a pair of the 3000mah 4s 20c jobs from HobbyKing for $63 shipped. The 3000mah stick packs I'm currently using went all day long no problem (usually took about 1200mah to top off) so I dont think you'll have any issues with packs at a capacity around 3000.

Just remember, you want at least a 20c rated pack for a starter box. The C's is what gives the "balls" to the starter box motors.

i dont think ill notice 5c difference? ive read couple different places and they said 15c was a min.

EDIT: i just looked at my current lipo, its 25C 4400mah and it has more then enough power for my box. at 4000 15c i dont think ill have an issue. isnt the lipo power calculated c x mah?

Shoot man, I run a 30C on mine. My cousin runs a 15C though, and it works fine
