has anyone tried square 3 peice aluminum centre posts that hold up the upper deck?
i have seen the same 3 graphite deck setup similar to the Yokomo SD.
just want to get an idea which will be better in preventing the chassis from twisting.
any input on this would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Shimmed Front One Way Pics for noobs
Here's some detailed pictures on shimming the front one way/diff. I thought I'd post this for noobs to the thread, and for anybody else that haven't done this mod that's getting discouraged with their cars due to the stripping of the Front One-way ring gear.
1. Pick up some shims For the front one-way. You will need Tamiya 10mm shim set part # 53588
While your at it pick up a Tamiya 5mm shim set part #53587 and shim the axles to take out the play. I shimmed mines 0.4mm on each side in the rear and 0.3mm on each side in the front.
Back to the Shimming of the Front One-Way
2. Shim the Front One-Way by placing the 10mm shims on the left side in-between the ball bearing and the front one-way as shown in the pictures. I shimmed mine by using [2] 0.3mm and [1] 0.2mm shims. A total of 0.8mm. This will move the One-way ring gear closer to the Bevel pinion gear for a much better and needed mesh, which will prevent stripping and enable a smoother drive train.
The amount af shims you use might vary, so shim and test till you get it right.
Heres how my One Way Ring Gear looks after 60-70 packs with a Reedy 10t dbl and a 19t spec. I really lost count
Still New looking! Not a scratch. Thats Ceramic grease on the gear btw. I gotta get some of that spray stuff that was mentioned in the thread somewhere.

Cool, thanx for the tip.
After three races, I have already stripped 3 front one-way gears. Never knew about the shimming trick.

I haven't stripped any on my Evo III S. I have had it for a few months now. I cracked my chassis before I stripped my oneway gear.

Fully Hopped,
did you sand the front/rear gearboxes to loosen up the bearings?
where do put the shims for the axles. on the outside where the wheel hub sits or on the inside where axles run through the steering knuckes?
Thanks!
