Tried the smokem chassis today and I'm really impressed. I didnt seem to lose any grip due to the stiffness but the car felt nicer changing directions due to the weight being more centred. It's certainly a worthwhile upgrade

It will be great if you can post some pics as we can compare the positioning of weight and ESC/RX positions.
It's good to hear positive things about this option chassis.

hi guys.
just finish last round of nationals, finished 4th today and 2nd overall. is really happy with the season . will begin to build the smokem chassis tomorrow and vil try to post some pictures in hear of how i have placed my elektronics

From memory, front's are a 1.5mm wider, rears 1mm wider... so double up for overall track change..

guys what is the feeling of drive the car without those blue shims that we put on the wheel? it increases the width of the car but what is the feeling driving with it and without it?

i have made my first race with box setup and the car was really good, but now i want to start working on setup.

HK416. Thanks for the pics. I think your fans are adding extra weight to the electronics side and is affecting the balance. But looks like you need them so not much that can be done there. I would look at doing the following to improve balance:
1) Move receiver closer to the centerline
2) Move the ESC capacitor so they run in front of or behind the ESC. It looks like you should have just enough room
3) Then move ESC capacitor and ESC closer to centerline

I am using a Venom V2 ESC which is very similar to SP V2 ESC. I place my capacitors in front of the ESC. I'm not sure if your ORCA ESC has a bigger capacitor or not. I assume it is similar.

My car is balanced with this layout and battery at the inside position. Minimum weight is 1425g so lead is added as close to the centerline as possible.

Did u superglue all chassis opening (battery slots, pulley slots)? Make sure u do.

I've placed all my electronics towards the centreline and push the battery out a lil bit (if necessary) to balance the car and it works great. One thing for sure is that my corner speed is slightly faster compared to the ori chassis!

Agreed Jonest. I really like the feel of the chassis as well. I find it rotates better than the stock chassis without being twitchy.

I just picked up my Exotek chassis today. Reading from the instruction, the PRO TIP says not to Super Glue (CA) the chassis edges coz it can introduce chassis tweak if not properly cure. Is this correct? I have always CA'ed my chassis edges from new before I assemble the whole kit. Can anyone make any input on this matter? I like using ZAP medium cure CA glue, its a little bit thick and cures longer than the normal thin type, if this make any difference. What viscosity of CA glue do you guys always use to glue the carbon chassis edges with?

I am not an expert at building cars, but I don't think CA your edges will cause your chassis to tweak. All CA the edges on all my cars.

If you don't CA your edges, the edges could flake or break, i think the chances of that happening are greater than you tweaking your chassis.
