good gosh! changing out the spur gear on the evoV MS is MUCH MUCH easier than the old evo V. definitely worth the upgrade!

Default Coming together at last.......

Ok it's taken me a while but i got round to building my Evo after more than two years of owning the kit. First race meeting im booked into is now less than two weeks away on a track i have never seen. Nothing like alittle bit of preasure to focus the mind

Still needs the speedo to go in and weights, bodyshell etc all need sorting out so still plenty to do.

yah.. if you're going to run 17.5.. you need to dremel the rear alum. plate to make room for the pinion sizes required by 17.5

the car is an easy build.. just like most tamiya cars.

is gearing that bad? I was hoping to run a 21.5 with it too for VTA. What size spur are you running for 17.5?

I bought an Evo 5 for TCS and with gearing a 13.5 at 44/88 I had to dremel the top deck. Running a 17.5 would be interesting.

Is that 64P? I imagine I will be running a spur in the 70s as long as the pinion will reach.

I am running my TB Evo 5 most times onroad. One of the most irritatiing problem is small stones sticking to the 96t 0.4 spur.

Eventually I was thinking of replacing the tamiya spur with Yokomo 98t 64 pitch spur. Yet then replace the pinion with Yokomo 64 pitch also.

What I notice the Tamiya spur are very soft & have short life span. You can bend it very easily. As for Yokomo spur it's much harder with better quality plastic.

Just to enquire, if anyone has used Yokomo spur & pinion? Is it much more durable?
