Default YES IT IS!

Salutations Earthlings!
i used the included "high torque" servo and it sucks.
there is a lot of play between the plastiky bit and the metal spring.
i tried to solve it bu using one less spring ,that got rid of the play but that made ther servo saver really soft.
then i tried to add a bit of epoxy to rid the gap<causing the play>but it just got too messy.
i eventually used a kimbrough servo saver.
you try it...

my black servo saver had the same slop as the white one. i personally like the good one from HPI, can't remember the part number though, thats if you run a saver.

i am currently running just a solid aluminum servo arm. no slop in those

FYI on Shurikarn Edition:

There was a display at the RCX show here in California.

No aluminum support blocks in the middle and gear case are still made of regular plastic not hardened composite.

I had problems with the white Tamiya one, so I replaced it with a mid sized Kimbrough and it's been working really well so far.

Peter, It was a very good size event. Tamiya had a huge booth and was showing off there products every couple of hours. You can see real custom cars, Robot fighting thingies, R/C planes, boats Etc. Off-Road track, On-Road track. Kyosho tracks (Off and On) for there mini cars. Not to much stuff for sale, only a couple of vendors, Hobby People and E-hobbies. All major brands were there. My friend had a booth contributed by RCX to show off Concourse Cars right by HPI's Booth.
It was pack Saturday and Sunday and was very successful.

Thought you may like to have a look at the race timing system many of the clubs in the UK use, r/c timing .

It has a number of features and is very easy to use windows based programe writen by an r/c racer.
