servo problems with my 8ight-t
today i took my 8ight-t to the track went through 1 normal traxxas servo and a metal gear spektrum servo. i finally went to the hobby store and bought a ti gear hitec does anyone know why this keeps happining i have my endpoints set right. so what gives i also have the oring'[s under the back reciever battery tray

What servo? steering or throttle brake?

Servo saver set too tight? I stripped out a Futaba gear last weekend so I just loosened it up a few turns. I know the manual says to tighten all the way then back off 1.5 turns , but I think that is still too tight. Grease the saver too as dirt will work it's way in there and jam everything up.

I have my servo endpoints adjusted right. I also have my throw set to 80% instead of 100% Plenty to stear my car properly. I had problems with my car being overly responsive at 100%. 80% will work well, and that way your servo is never torquing from left to right at maximum throw.
Same for the Throttle, I assume that's the one you blew. adjust your end points so it's one tick below what you think it should be. I don't use O rings under my tray, and when I go from full throttle to full brake, my radio tray doesn't move at all.
I'm still using the same servo's I put in the car the day I built it. I think if properly done, you shouldn't never have a problem.

thats how my linkage looks i have my endpoints on the throttle servo so the radio tray doesnt move and the brakes are still strong and it just barely almost pull the carb slide all the way open about 1 mm so maybe this new hitec ti gear i put in the throttle will not blow out. and how do u tighten the servo saver for the steering mine is way to loose after a full day of practice.

you can tighten your servo saver by using plyers, or do what I did and adjust it properly by taking the steering rack out and using a small dab of blue lock tight on the threads. Mine doesn't budge a bit.
and actually, the photo I posted was of some one elses set up for the throttle linkage. Mine is more angled to prevent the carb from kinking up a bit. that may be what's killing peoples servos. Binding slide carbs that aren't aligned straight.

from what i hear, the servos sit on the chassis and when landing jumps or maybe just from vibration it can cause the circuit board inside to mess up.
solution would be something like the xtreme carbon servo support tray which raises the servos off the chassis.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my 8ight. Damn thing ate servos even when I followed the instructions an tips from others just like yourself.
I adjusted end-points, raised the servo, used the o-rings, used the rubber grommets that comes with the servos, checked and re-checked the servo saver....
Getting the Hitec seemed to work. But one day I just get fed up with it and switched to Mugen.....
