Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

I haven't had anything break yet (knock on wood) and it has been thru some hard landings. I did bend two rear stock shock towers (same problem I had on v1). Went with the carbon fiber and so far so good (got two weekends of racing on them). If you decide to get carbon fiber shock towers, you probably could just start with the rear. I've never bent a front one. I'm running an aluminum A hinge pin block. Structurely, thats all I've done. Its may be wise to get an extra set of a-arms, but I've never broken one v1 nor v3 and I learned to jump and race on v1. You may eventually want to get some springs for your shocks for tuning purposes. I do think the stock rear is too soft if you have bigger jumps or whoops.

Question, I ran the stock vented setup, if i were running the emulsion setup I wouldn't have to deal with holes in bladders... think it's worth making the change for?

Thanks.
You definitely wont go through bladders that way. Ive never seen a bladder fail that way unless it was already defective from the factory. I personally don't like an emulsion build because I feel that the shocks become too inconsistent during a run. The first lap feels good, but seems too loose itself more as the rece goes on and the shocks heat up.

reason for asking this is because I intend to get a ford 150 svt body shell and it's designed for the traxxas (which requires extended body posts). but it doesn't seem to have pre-cut holes for body shells.
Truck shares mounting holes with the SCTE. You may have to drill the body.

It really is a tank, but what I most commonly see break is the front caster and steering block, and the front pin mount "A". Its not very common. I think in the 3 years ive run this truck, Ive seen maybe 2 of them break.

Thanks for the info, I ordered the replacement bladders and I'll just chalk this one up to bad luck. The truck really is awesome, ordered an EB48.3 because I loved the SCT410.3 so much.

Under acceleration, the nose of the truck wants to come up. Does anobody else have this issue? Or is this suppose to happen ?

It depends on how far up. Is it uncontrollable? I see this on all my cars. Its probably more noticeable on SCTs. You probably can play with droop, antisquat and shocks to reduce this.

You mean you are pulling the front tires off the ground?? Youch, turn your power down. If you are just lightening up the front end and ballooning the front tires that's a different story. Increasing the center diff oil weight is an option. You could also try increasing rear anti-squat or reduce the front kick up.

Yes, I broke the front bumper in the first couple of races I had it. It came out from the bottom. So I used my old sct410 front bumper, works much better if you dont need the extra clearance. Overall I'm very disappointed in this version loved the original. Ass end too soft tried all kinds of pistons 8x1.3 6x1.5 10x1.2 springs oil changes.not sure at this point, I feel like just selling my .3. Not happy at all TEKNO.......help

Can you post your setup and the issues you all are having? I'm pretty sure some people on here will have some ideas to try that hopefully will work.

Snarf, what is the truck doing that you need to correct? You say the rear end is too soft but that isn't a characteristic that makes you run slower laps. Is it blowing through the travel and chassis slapping on jump faces? Try moving the shock mounting position out on the tower. Maybe post a vid showing what it is doing.
