Congratulations flyin Hawaiian

My Serpents are ready for first race at local track

I noticed when I tightened the bottom front diff case screws the diff was not free and would be getting stuck
Loosening the bottoms screws made it smoother
Rebuilt the front diff twice and was free but once tightened on chassis it would bind

Anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks

Try to remove the shim(s) that go behind the 13-tooth pinion gear and see if that free up the bind...........

Super secret!!! Sweep Racing Tires were the ticket, they worked way better with the track. The more you ran them they tackier they got. A Murnan Modified ISON GT helps a ton too, his infield was where he made the magic.

You can bet we will be back out, that was just too much fun!!! Great track great people and warm sunshine, count me in!

Also you can loosen up the top shock mount screws a half turn or so depending on where you are getting the pinch. These cars take a little to wear in but once they do they are free and perfectly functioning race machines.

Hey DRRC......I would check to see if diff. gear is contacting chassis pan. I built a car with 'aftermarket' chassis pan that had that problem and found out the 'recess' in the chassis for the big diff, gear wasn't cut correctly. Found that by spinning wheels by hand at point where the gear just made contact, it made a small mark to indicate 'dremmel target'. (just to clarify, mine was a 'K' car........but the gremlin can be the same)

Thanks for the info guys
I think all of the above
I overtightened the diff case at all screws so have to open up by 1/4 and removed one shim too
Still not smooth but with some running should get better
