I can't totally agree with you guys, USB connection is obviously not the easiest way to connect a smartphone... You'll need a master port and a software support from the OS... Maybe Bluetooth or P2P Wifi would have been a better way, but a little bit more expensive as you need a small adapter...

We've mentioned it more that one time. The AOS issues with 4.2 or higher not connection is an AOS issue, not a Hotwire app issue.
The Beta test team is testing the Gen1 supported app and has shown no issues so far. So look for the update on the Play Store soon.

I think I can independently confirm no go on Android 4.4
Sprint put out the 4.4.2 update for HTC One so I got an OTG cable to try. I get the "Android 4.2/4.3 has disabled the hotwire"
but I was hopeful because when I plugged in the hotwire it asked if I wanted to connect to this USB device. My phone powers the hotwire and powers my RS Gen 2 when I plug it in (lights flash) but it won't read or apply settings to the ESC. bummer.
