Yes but how many changes have the Xrays gone through?

1st Xray T1EVO
2nd Xray T1EVO2
3rd Xray T1EVO2 FOC
4th Xray T1FK

That is alot of changes in a small amount of time to get the car to be wear it is today. The TC4 will get there, it will just take time. Remember the Xray was terrible when it first came out. Pivot ball and all. Parts quality was the only plus.

I agree it does need more track time, but as for now its doing very well here.I drive only Xray my whole r/c lifetime, but i have to say that the TC4 is coming out strong. At my LHS its always between the Xray's and TC4's. So props to TC4.

Which is also one of the reason's I'm waiting for the FT kit. By then there should be some solid set up methodology in place. I liked the setup guide at the back of the xxxs book but some of the info was 180deg out from true. The xxx main guide had better info!

What made the original T1 so terrible??

Pivot ball isn't as easy to set up as C-Hub, or as light, but it is more tunable and more durable.

Just curious...I've had a T1, and it ws great, and an Evo2, and a FK, and now a TC4, that's been upgraded to what I suspect the FT Kit will look like...or at least very close to it..

all great cars with their strengths and weaknesses...

I failed to see anything terrible...please...enlighten me

Build quality of an X-ray is far more impressive to me.

the xray imo is a much more percisly built car nothing ever rubs on them or anything like that but with a little tlc and getting everything right the tc4 is just as good

Parts and finish is one of the areas that the X-ray does prove to have an advantage out of the box. But my TC4 nothin rubbed and I dont have nearly the slop I hear about, couple shims here and there and it was ready to go.

when i got mine and after reading this, i feared the worst.
Now, it has less slop than my old 415..

All i need is a little topdeck to get some extra stiffness and it will be perfect

Arms Update...

Replaced an arm this weekend. Still looked like the old style arms (vs. the pic that was posted on this thread).

I only replaced one carbon arm. My friend noticed last night that one side had considerably more play than the other. I replaced the slopy arm with the other one from the package and voila...a reasonable amount of play (notice the loss of the word slop).

Very happy...Thanks AE...car is DIALED!

Now the arms with the taper up front are still coming out right? Haven't seen any of those. I think that would definately help with breakage.

yep, BMI are working on a prototype CFd (dbl deck) chassis ...if you look back a page or 2 there will be some pics of rayhaung's car with it fitted...looks real nice.

one thing guys, about the cracked motor clamp...i emailed CML (UK distributor of AE parts) and they said they will send me out a replacement motor clamp free of charge......good customer service

thanks AE and CML!!!

Default I thought Jason said...

they were working on a top deck for the AE tub chassis. I asked about it on the BMI thread, maybe he was talking about the complete chassis. I purposed just a top deck for those who can't afford the whole chassis. Personally I would rather just have a top deck, because replacing a tweaked tub chassis is much cheaper.
