Default Lipo Battery

I'm running a box stock Sprint 2 Camaro in Novice. Would like to upgrade to Lipo. Is there a particular battery that fits the tight compartment on these cars without modification? Wanted to run 5000 MAh, 40C and share it on different race days/tracks with my Losi Slider for now.

Thanks

Never mind. Further searching has answered my question.

Still interested in what others are running with the stock motor and ESC. I'm thinking 5000 40C and plan to share it with my Losi Slider till I can afford another.

I use a Venom 5000 and it fits nice. Everyone talks about the belt rubbing, but I don't see much of a problem. Plus, when it's under power, the belt is under tension on the bottom side. I haven't seen any damage from mine.

Thanks. I got a venom 5000 today. The belt does lay on the edge of the battery but I haven't powered it yet to see if it clears under load. If it drags too much I saw a fix in another thread on these cars that I might try.

Will the Associated cups work okay?
do you have a photo please with regards to the belt tensioner

Go here HPI Sprint 2 Mods - Making a silk purse from a sow's ear.

Scroll down to "Front Belt Lifter For LiPo Battery".

Complete with pictures & part numbers.

Does anyone know if any aftermarket spurs work on the HPI Sprint?

My brother put a HotRacing aluminum spur for an Axial SCX10 on his..He had to drill 2 holes to bolt it on but, its centered up nice.

I'm going to do the same thing because I have one of those spurs in inventory.

Spend a couple bucks on a spur and let us know if it works!

Yes. You may have to remove the round 3 pin mounting device. I just used 2 screws and it works just fine.

I have two of these that my son and I race. I put Associated ball cups all around on his and it seems to be holding up. I also locktite-ed the servo saver knurled nut to keep it from going loose. Shimming the axles through the wheel bearings on either or both sides help remove some slop there. I put aluminum carriers in the rear and castor block and knuckles on the front of the boy's car and added aluminum locking drive hexes. The wheels spin freely without excess wobble. Untrue wheels are another potential culprit. I'm going to take mine completely apart and rebuild it with locktite on any screw going into aluminum and new ball cups as I got frustrated and got a different chassis to race with. I will race this again in VTA.

I setup my chassis to use the 5000mAh Venom 30C packs by removing a bit of material on the swinging latch on each side so that the plugs are not blocked. I'll post up some pictures of my mods soon. I have my work cut out for me. Building/working on these is half of the fun for me.

OBTW, you won't be able to use the OEM pin plate with the Robinson spurs - just the screws.

So I plan to run my HPI Sprint with a 17.5T motor. What gearing should I use? I use 64P gearing.

Default Sprint 2 Flux Steering Wobble

Along with many of you I have the same problem with my Sprint 2 Flux. The steering is way too loose. Can anyone tell me the measurements that the tirerods should be? I bought the RPM ball cups to hopefully fix this problem but I dont think my tirerods are the length they should be.Any info on this would really help me out. I am looking to change all the ball cups to RPM. I also purchased another servo spring to install on the left side. Can anyone verify if these two fixes have solved their problem??? Thank you. And Im sorry if I posted wrong . This is all new to me.
