What do you guys use when you doing work on your vehicle? I'm looking at a duratrax car stand, I like the swivel top, but is that more trouble than it's worth?

What are some suggestions, which stands do you like?

i just use my starter box, all car stands i have had dont hold the car real well and fall off, stays on starter box!

Car stands are good for building shocks if they have that option built in and making your buggy look good on a work bench.

The stand from Losi is what I use. Been using the same one for over 3 years now. It doesn't swivel however it's sturdy and doubles as a shock rebuild stand. It can also be broken down so it fits nice in your pit bag/box. It's under $15.

I use the Losi stand and the same duratrax stand you are using. I like the duratrax b/c it swivels. The losi stand, as said above, is great for shocks.

I have a losi stand and it's ok. I have a couple hudy stands that work well too.

at our local track and a few others i have been to i rarely see anyone using a car stand to work on there cars/trucks, they just work on them on bench then when they are done they put them on car stand to look like a trophy...LOL

I made a stand out of scrap cedar wood I had sittin around in shop class. I didnt wanna pay $25 for a duratrax one and this one only cost me $3 and thats the price of a swivel at lowes.

Keeps the car off its wheels. Sitting stationary puts stress on arms, springs, etc. and can also develop flat spots on tire inserts.

The Duratrax stand sucks to me because the swivel on it is not stiff enough. If your table is on uneven surface the swivel will turn with it. I got tired of it and just got 2 losi stands.

Thats the same thing I did it works great and was dirt cheap I even painted with some lefted over body paint.

i can see these being decent!! atleast they have pegs so your car/truck does not slide/fall off of stand. but yes i agree they are a little pricey
