Yes skill level can help but I think I've got my Barracuda(original) way too early and I had no support and set up information.
Both company makes a great car! But like Dan said,
"it's really down to how YOU drive the car and if YOU understand how it works so you can adjust to conditions." This is why I've got TA04, shaft drive did not fit my driving style and I knew more about Tamiya cars(i had TA03 Pro) than anything else. Plus we have a great local racer like Dan and Peter which I can get a help quickly.
That's a key to having fun with this hobby!
