if i understand correctly you have a set of trf shocks that you bought. they should be the same shocks as the ones listed as a hop up in the manual. the white springs with the yellow marks denotes that it is the same as the regular yellows, so you are correct. they are medium. people used to and probably still do like to hide their setup secrets so tamiya came out with special white or milky blue springs that all looked the same but had small markings so you would know what rates u were running but at a glance ur neighbor wouldn't.
