Usually when the grip is really high some team drivers use the hard parts. The regular parts tend to flex more which can provide more grip. Sometimes when the weather is really hot hard plastics can be a good choice as they will not be affected by the heat as the regular parts. I almost always run the regular parts, but have tried hard parts and cannot feel too much of a difference.
