There are some advantages I did not see at the 1st time
- the flyweights do not have to move over the pins of the flywheel, they only have to rotate which makes the movement faster due less friction.
- the movement is in a straight line of the force and not in an 45 degree angle wicht does give 1.4x more force in the clucth system.
- there is less weight on the outside of the flywheel.
All advantages is giving a faster responding clutch with which you should be able to set an higher engaging point.
I also didn't take into account the weights only moving on one plane.
