More gearing and less turbo/boost will produce less heat. But if you go to far, and are over geared, then you will also create alot of heat,

But, if you want to be fast, then you are better off using more turbo/boost, and gear the car correctly from there. When you use boost, you can really improve the performance of the car in the infield, while keeping your temps down. Because the motor doesnt have alot of timing in it, you can turn a pretty big gear making the car faster (read, lots of torque) coming out of the corners. Then bring in your boost to advance the timing to give you the middle throttle, and use the turbo only on the straight aways.

FW 211 doesnt allow turbo to kick in before the boost is all in, so the ESC prevents you from over timing the motor on the infield, helping to keep the temps down for the heavy throttle type.
