I've never owned a HotBodies D8 but for a new racer or basher they are perfect. The parts are cheaaap on e bay, and the kit is inexpensive, then you can buy gear you will have longer than the buggy if you really get into it, you wont have to buy all new stuff again.....and you can get good servos and a nice radio..starter box, things you will have for a while.....It saves in the long run to avoid rtr's....I think....
