Losi, Mugen and Kyosho are probably the 3 best on the market.
While I have flirted with other manufacturers, I've returned to Losi twice now because I find it very easy to drive fast. The wear is not as bad as people make it sound. Buy yourself a pin tool to swap driveline pins once in a while and you will be fine.
The only Mugen I have driven was set up in such a way that I couldn't drive it very well. It was smoother in the corner, the steering felt much more relaxed, and it didn't do that Losi pivot which I enjoy. It handled the bumps and blown out spots considerably better than my Losi.
