Your are right about the pinions. They had a long boss because the motor was centered in the car and the spur gear was way over by the tire. They also made some pinions in 64 pitch with the long boss. I still have packages of tires that have not been removed from their sanitary environment. Gold and Silver were the hardness designations. I loved those cars.
