I find that normally, no boost software with a lower wind motor has a smoother feeling than boost.
However, maybe you can try both as my Orion speedo has a turbo feature on the mod software which I use

For a small track, an LRP 5.0 should be ok
you can make the car drive better out of corners by using a little more rear toe (like 3.5) but then you will lose a little steering in the corner. It can be important to make sure the car isnt too overpowered
You could also turn the speedo punch down maybe so that the bottom end feeling is softer but still with good top speed.
