+1 on clutch bell and shoes, bearings.

it doens't take much to stall these nitro motors. on the gas, its more forgiving, at idle, it doesn't take much to stall these motors out. thats why many people use a bare finger.

then rule out the linkage, and apply the brakes 100% and make sure the idle isn't being pushed beyond the gap required for idle. this most likey would stall the engine.
