I've always kept my monster stocks around 30-33 on the pinion just depending on the track. Its gonna get hot cause its a stock motor. Just don't let it get unsolder the brushes hot lol I guess a lot of it could depend on your motor setup too. I've always stuck with 4499s and red/green. I don't run stock enough to try lots of different things. I'm sure one of the other guys could give you tons more info then I could. Thats just what works for me.
