Think BMW and Lexus IS200 were the only RWD models ?

(wait to be corrected)
I'm a BTCC buff.

the Lexus IS200 was in the BTC-spec rules, later (post 2001) compared to Super Touring of the 90s. HPI do/did the Lexus body.

In mainland Europe, Nissan and Opel tried RWD and 4WD versions of the Primera and Cavalier/Vectra, but had problems with transfer boxes not handling the power from the 2.0 engines and slick tyres. Andy Rouse and Ford tried the same transfer box method with the first incarnation of the Mondeo V6 making it RWD, but gave up because of transmission losses.

In racing during the Super Touring days of the BTCC, the only raced 4WD car was the Audi Sport UK A4s (which were weighted up with success ballast, but still won). The only raced RWD car was BMW M3 and 318i's run by various teams, but officially with Schnitzer for BMW.

RE: bodies, here's what I remember -

1994 Ford Mondeo (Tamiya, Racecraft)
1994 Volvo 850 Estate (Factory Works)
1996 Audi A4 (Tamiya, Kyosho, Protoform)
1996 Volvo 850 (Factory Works, Kyosho, Tamiya)
1996 Honda Accord (Parma)
1997 Renault Laguna (Parma, Kyosho)
1997 Peugeot 406 (Tamiya, Parma, Schumacher)
1997 Volvo S40 (Protoform, Parma, Kyosho, CEN)
1997 Nissan Primera (Protoform, Parma)
1997 Vauhall Vectra (Parma)
1998 Renault Laguna (Parma '97 body with Carson decal sheet)
1998 Honda Accord (CEN)
1997 Ford Mondeo (Parma, Protoform)
1999 Vauxhall Vectra (Protoform)
2000 Ford Mondeo (HPI)
2002 Vauxhall Astra Coupe (HPI, Protoform, Kyosho)
2001 MG ZS (Parma, Protoform)
2005 Lexus IS200 (HPI)
2005 BMW 320si (CEN)
2006 Vauxhall Astra Sportshatch (Tamiya, very rare and expensive)
2007 Vauxhall Vectra VXR (Tamiya, very rare and expensive)
2007 BMW 320si (Tamiya, R4Hobbies)
2008 Vauxhall Vectra VXR (Tamiya, very rare and expensive)

And probably ones I've forgotten. But only the Protoform ones will handle (if you can find one).

And time to trot out my old Parma Laguna on my old Tamiya TRF415....
