ROBK, thanks for the info. More than likely I'd be running a 17.5 with a SPX. My home track has no F1 class so I would be running the car on practice days for fun. Since I'm not running a really powerful motor it sounds like tire life shouldn't be too bad.
I am overheating 540 motors on a carpet track 63 feet by 33 feet 8 second laps. My highest gear tested has been 108/24 = FDR of 4.5 and a Rollout of 1.54. How high does the gear need to be to avoid destroying these motors from overheating? Smoke from the rear of the car looks cool but not a desired result.
Any help appreciated!
